While other car companies push the limits of technology, Bentley does it with a different philosophy—luxury being its top priority. And the British luxury marque’s upcoming crossover is touted as the most luxurious one in the world of CUVs, though details are yet to come out to substantiate the claim. However, knowing Bentley, things can only be five-starish.
Bentley has been talking in hushed tones about the specifications, but the speculation is that the new crossover will have the MLB Evo platform powered by a 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8, or even its 6.0-liter W12. There are confirmed plans for a plug-in hybrid variant of the crossover in 2017.
In the meantime, Bentley has been testing its new model in the Alps, after disguising the production body under thick padding to hide the fine, svelte contours. Going by the basic shape of the model from the spy snaps, the model looks like a mashed up version of the Continental GT and EXP 9 F concept which Bentley had displayed first at the 2012 Geneva Motor Show.
The spy photographs also reveal a bit about the interiors, which is more digital than ever—loaded with instrument clusters and protruding circular air vents coming out on top of the dashboard. Wood and metallic detailing are aplenty in what seems like a dual cockpit layout.
