The LG G2 and Moto X has landed, that means attention will now turn hard to the iPhone 5S, 5C, Note 3 and the next Nexus phone. Today’s rumor is about the latter. According to a new report that surfaced from Tinhte, the Nexus 5 will in fact be made by Nexus 5 – despite some claims that Motorola will be the next Nexus maker. Furthermore, they say the phone will be based on the LG G2 and will keep its 2.3GHz quad-core Snapdragon 800 CPU, 2GB RAM and massive 5.2-inch 1080p display.
As for the design of the phone? It will end up somewhere between the older Nexus 4 and the design of the Nexus 7. Why the Nexus 7? The rumor suggests Google wants the devices to look similar so that they feel like they are party of the same “family group”.For those wondering, the rumor also claims the next-Nexus (which it calls Nexus 5) will feature a glass back. Let’s just hope it doesn’t run into the same troubles as the Nexus 4.
Last but not least, the rumor says LG and Google will take these kick-ass specs and roll them into a package that is priced very similarly to the original Nexus 4.That’s a lot of info – but how believable is it? As always, handle these types of claims with some serious reservations. That said, Tinhte was the first site to ever report on the Moto X, and managed to get a fair amount of the details right. In other words, it is certainly possible that this latest rumor is at least partly true. What do you think, excited for the Nexus 5 or not?
