New Nexus 7 Has Arrived: Pricing, Availability and More!

Earlier today we reported on leaked specs and details from Best Buy. Now we have the official word from Google, the new Nexus 7 is here! This time around we get a lighter, thinner, sexier Nexus tablet with a 2mm thinner profile and a reduced bezel by 3mm on each side. What really makes the new Nexus 7 stand out though is its display.

While it is still just a 7-incher, the tablet now delivers an impressive 1920 x 1200 resolution, which comes in at 323ppi. This certainly stomps all existing 7-inch tablet resolutions.

Beyond the display resolution, the new Nexus 7 also features a faster 1.5GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Pro processor, 2GB RAM, 16/32GB storage, a 5MP back cam, 1.2MP front cam, dual-stereo speakers, microUSB port with Slimport, Bluetooth 4.0, optional 4G LTE and virtual surround sound technology.

The last of these features is designed to give you a 5.1 surround-like experience through the tablet’s speakers or even a pair of headphones. The new Nexus 7 also will be the very first device to feature Android 4.3 Jelly Bean out of the box, though other Nexus devices will in fact see the upgrade to 4.3 later today.

    When’s it coming?

The wait won’t be long for this one! Come July 30th, customers in the United States can get their hands on the new Nexus 7 through the Google Play Store and tons of new retail partners. Prices will start at $229 for the 16GB version or $269 for the 32GB model.

For those that don’t live in the states? The UK, Germany, South Korea, Japan, Canada, Spain, France and Australia will also get the Nexus 7 in just a matter of weeks. Additional unlisted countries will also likely see the tablet too in the not-terribly-far future.Speaking of waiting a few weeks, that’s exactly how long it will take to bring the new Nexus 7 32GB 4G LTE model to the market as well – at least in the U.S.

When it arrives, the tablet will support Verizon, T-Mobile and AT&T with a price point of just $349.So how about it, are you excited to get your hands on the new Nexus 7?
