ZTE Android 4.0 Smartphones Will Have 3D UI and Homescreen

ZTE Android 4.0 Smartphones Will Have 3D UI and Homescreen

One of the things that sets Android apart from Windows Phone or the iPhone is that it is truly open and allows for a heavy level of customization. Because of this, many vendors have created their own custom shells for the Android experience, such as TouchWiz from Samsung, HTC Sense from HTC, and even the tablet UI for the Kindle Fire. From ZTE we now have the Rightware Kanzi UI solution which offers a 3D homescreen that helps ZTE’s new phones really stand out. This adds to the wow factor, but it also will more than likely add to the drain and strain that will be put onto the processor, I’d bet. Still, it at least helps set ZTE phones apart from the many other Android handset makers out there. And who knows, it may not be such a big deal once quad-cores are out of the stable.

Kanzi Studio works seamlessly with leading 3D content creation tools, such as Autodesk 3DS Max, Maya and XSI and Blender. Once built, modifying and deploying UI designs to various different devices and platforms can be done seamlessly and without additional engineering effort. Given its long work in the field of graphics performance testing, Rightware has been able to optimize Kanzi Engine to make it capable of executing highly comprehensive UI designs with superior performance.

“We’re very excited to announce ZTE Corporation licensing the Kanzi UI Solution. Our designers and engineers worked together with ZTE’s team and the results of this cooperation now boost ZTE in competing for the pole position in the global smartphone rally.
