Super Talent Intros USB 3.0 Portable SDD Drive

When it comes to external storage, they have never really had the speed and performance of an internal HDD drive. Now the company “Super Talent” claims that its new product will change the way people think about external storage. The Storage Mod Mini is a portable SSD that uses new USB 3.0 connector and is essentially just a smaller version of the company’s current Storage POD external drive.

As quoted from Super Talent:

Thanks to USB 3.0 and SSD technologies, it is now possible to create a USB storage solution that is smaller, lighter and more rugged than a traditional HDD. A blue anodized, all-aluminum enclosure enables this drive to be both lightweight and rugged. It fits easily in your pocket and requires no power adapter. It’s the perfect traveling companion.

The device is optimized for USB 3.0 but is also backwards compatible with USB 2.0, and works with Windows XP-7 (and presumably Windows 8), as well as Mac OSX 10.4 or later.

The Super Pod MINI will be available in 60GB, 120GB, and 240GB capacities. No official pricing has been publicly revealed at this time. Check out the video below to see a benchmark of the device:
