Netbooks have made it very convenient for people to get a laptop-style web surfing experience while on the go, but battery life may have been a little less than satisfying. If you’re looking to rock your netbook for an extended period without being tied to a wall outlet, you may want to check out this incredible battery for the Asus Eee PC 901.
Most netbooks on the market today come with a battery that boasts somewhere between three and six cells. There is certainly a tradeoff when deciding between a smaller or a larger battery, because while the former is much more portable, the latter gives you much more life away from the wall outlet. If you’re more inclined to lean toward bigger batteries, this 10-cell behemoth is for you.
Yes, a ten-cell battery for a tiny netbook like the Asus Eee PC. Considering that I think the 9-cell battery for my 14-inch Dell is a bit on the chunky side, you’d imagine how strange a 10-cell battery would look on a 9-inch Eee. Well, I guess you don’t really need to imagine, because the photographic proof is right here.
This has to be one of the ugliest batteries I’ve ever seen, mostly because it extends well beyond the proportions of the Eee. Look at it stretch off to both sides and out the back. I think I’d be able to put up with a battery that is a little thicker, but having it extend horizontally beyond the Eee is quite strange.
In any case, the 10-cell battery for the Eee PC 901 is rated at 13,000mAh and is good for between 10 and 14 hours of active computing. Wow.
