Sprint is all proud of its XOHM network and how it’s so much faster than any of those 3G networks out there, but where are the devices that can actually make use of this 4G technology? Jumping onto the XOHM bandwagon is Acer, introducing two new laptops bound for the American market that are preconfigured to work with a WiMAX connection.
The Acer Aspire 4930 features a 14.1-inch widescreen display, 3GB of RAM, 320GB hard drive, a webcam, and a sticker price of $900. Going slightly bigger is the Acer Aspire 6930, which swaps out the smaller display in favor of a 16-inch display. Interestingly, the Aspire 6930 also retails for $900. Both lappies make use of the Intel Centrino 2-based WiMAX/Wi-Fi module.
The Sprint XOHM WiMAX network is currently live in Baltimore, so area residents can enjoy that speedy downloading by buying one of these Acer laptops through Newegg.com or TigerDirect.com.
