I realize that when you go to the official Best Buy website, there is a splash page telling you that they do not sell the iPhone 3G in Canada. That page has yet to reflect this change, but it turns out that Best Buy Mobile Canada will indeed be picking up Apple’s latest touchscreen mobile phone and entertainment device.
The whole Best Buy Mobile Canada venture kicked off last week, representing all major carriers and they happened to have a few unlocked devices as well, like the HTC Touch Pro. In terms of finding an iPhone 3G at your local Best Buy store, it will depend “on availability and supply.” Pricing is identical to when you buy the iPhone from Apple, Rogers, or Fido: $199 and $299 for 8GB and 16GB, respectively, assuming that you sign a new three-year contract.
“The iPhone is a revolutionary product that has changed the way people think about their mobile phone,” said Best Buy Canada Director of Wireless Solutions Phil Johnston. “And we are pleased to be able to help Canadians get their hands on one of the hottest new products introduced in Canada this year.”
