Battling the elements may not be too much of a concern during the summer (unless you find yourself in the middle of a scorching desert or dipping your head in a Hawaiian lagoon), but it’s still good to know that the Panasonic SDR-SW20 will be able survive everything that Mother Nature throws at it.
Unlike so many other rugged electronics out there, this camcorder doesn’t have an ugly rubberized cover for shock protection or other bulky add-ons to save it from the worst of the elements. It just looks like any other electronic device. Even so, Panasonic says that the SDR-SW20 is waterproof, shockproof, and sand-proof.
Able to shoot both stills and videos, this camcorder has 10x optical zoom, QuickStart mode, SDHC expansion, and a 2.7-inch flip-out LCD. No word on price.
