It’s easy to clamor over the most advanced and newest devices on the market, but not everyone is ready to break the bank just to say that they have the latest toy in town. Some people just need a reasonable level of functionality at an affordable price and that’s where something like the newly revealed HTC P3400i PDA phone comes into play.
It’s not going to dethrone the HTC Diamond or anything like that, but it does come powered by Windows Mobile 6 and gets a feature set that would have been pretty notable last year. That’s how quickly the smartphone market evolves. Among the highlights are a 2.8-inch touchscreen, quad-band GSM/GPRS, 2 megapixel camera, and Bluetooth. There’s no mention of Wi-Fi or 3G, unfortunately, so data hogs may have to look elsewhere.
Although it’s marketed as an “affordable business PDA”, I still think that the $488 HTC P3400i is a little pricey, especially for people accustomed to “free with contract” phones.
