The Rogers Wireless collection of cell phones and mobile devices is about to get a heck of a lot more interesting in the next month or so. Not only is the HTC Shift making its way over to Rogers Wireless, but the Canadian GSM service provider is also nabbing the BlackBerry Bold, Motorola E8, Motorola ROKR U9, and Motorola W775r.
Starting with the HTC Shift, the QWERTY-packing UMPC is said to be making its way into retail stores “within the next 10 days.” The current rumor has the HTC Shift arriving as early as May 22nd, but you might want to start saving up those pennies, because the Shift is going for $1,500 with a three-year contract. Ouch. I wonder what full retail on this would be through Rogers.
The BlackBerry Bold is scheduled for launch between June 9th and 29th, which may coincide with the announcement of the 3G iPhone. No specific dates have been set for the Motorola E8, ROKR U9, or the W775r, but the Moto trio should be coming some time in June. The ROKR U9 is said to be Fido-bound. Lastly, Rogers will not be getting the BlackBerry 8320, sticking instead to the 8120 and 8820 for UMA reasons.
