Samsung Ace Coming to Bell Mobility on May 12th

Bell Mobility may not have the Blackjack II that’s kicking around in the stable of Fido and Rogers, but it seems like they are getting their hands on a slim Samsung smartphone one way or another. Frank and Gordon are probably going to be pretty happy when the Samsung Ace smartphone launches with Bell Mobility on Monday, May 12th. This is still in the rumor stages, but it sounds pretty plausible.

As you may already know, Bell Mobility has been really pushing the QWERTY-powered personal email thing with their recent ad campaign and it seems like the Samsung Ace will fit that billing pretty well. The Ace bears a striking resemblance to the JACK, except it ditches HSDPA in favor of EV-DO.

Other features on this Samsung smartphone include Windows Mobile 6, a 1.3 megapixel camera (ew!), microSD expansion slot, stereo Bluetooth, and an unlocked SIM card slot for GSM-powered world travel. I’d imagine that the only GSM radios involved would be the non-Canadian 900/1800 bands. No word on pricing, but I guess we’ll find out later this month!
