I love my Dell laptop. It’s just so much more convenient than being attached to a desktop computer, because it means that if I want to set up a mobile office in a coffee shop, I can do that. The trouble is that I am not always able to find a wall outlet at said coffee shop. I’m left to rely on the couple of batteries that I have for my Dell. If only the battery life were a little better.
It seems that Samsung is coming to rescue of notebook owners around the world, because they have developed some new technology “that gives the battery a 10% longer charger than previous generation batteries.” These new units will probably be sold to HP, Dell, and other American PC companies for their small form factor laptops. Furthermore, the new batteries have a faster charger time than their predecessors as well.
Extra life and faster charging are all well and good, but let’s make sure that Samsung’s batteries don’t spontaneously combust like oh so many other laptop batteries we’ve experienced in the last year or so.
