This is totally cool and if the image quality is up to snuff, I’d love to give one of these a whirl. Altek has created a point-and-shoot digital camera that comes with an embedded GPS chip. This camera will automatically geotag every picture that you take. The information is then loaded onto the metadata.
When you get back home, you can cross-reference this metadata with the mapping tools on Google Maps, Google Earth, or Flickr’s geotag-enabled galleries. What this means is that you no longer have to wonder where you took the picture of that weird statue or whatever other landmark. No more guesswork.
The 8-megapixel camera has a 3-inch touchscreen display as well. When the Altek GPS digital camera hits the market — this information was not provided — it will carry some different branding, so keep your eyes peeled.
