The launch of the Google Android operating system is right around the corner, so we’re starting to get a really look at what this revolutionary platform will have to offer. In the image to the right, you can see that they have adapted Android for use on the Nokia N810 Internet Tablet, “proving its flexibility.” This shows that it will work not only for smartphones, but also larger devices as well.
But if you want to get a little more action out of the Google-powered puppy, then you’ll have to take a gander that I have embedded below. In that clip, you can see Quake running on an Android demo unit supplied by Qualcomm. This makes use of hardware accelerators and pumps out full VGA resolution fragging at 30 frames per second.
Android looks like it’s going to be a serious contender and I’m pretty stoked about the possibilities.
