Yes, we already know that most smartphone users are aligned with the business-side of things, but they also want to have a good time too. That’s why Electronic Arts is expanding their mobile game lineup into the realm of smartphones. Um, even more so. This not only includes Windows Mobile devices, but also those handhelds powered by BlackBerry and Symbian as well.
As it stands, EA Mobile already has a handful of games for the Symbian OS, including Doom, FIFA Soccer, Tiger Woods PGA Tour, and The Sims. BlackBerry users, in similar fashion, can already get their game on with Tetris, Bejeweled, Monopoly Here & Now, and more. I’d expect them to port over a few more EA franchises to all three platforms, letting all smartphone owners enjoy a piece of the gaming pie.
“With smartphones becoming everyday devices, we are excited to offer the fun, and high quality of EA Mobile games to a growing and important worldwide market,” said Travis Boatman, Vice President of Worldwide Studios for EA Mobile. “Offering top titles for the most popular smartphones, and our recent announcement that we will develop for the iPhone, reflect our focus and commitment to emerging platforms and markets.”
