Nomophobia is Real: Fear of Being Without Your Mobile Phone

I can’t imagine leaving my house without my cell phone. Even if I’m taking a quick walk over to the corner store to pick something up, I’ll feel concerned that I may miss a call. Making it halfway to the store, I’ll inevitably turn around to get my phone first. This does not make any logical sense, but it seems that I am not the only one who feels this way.

Scientists have “discovered” a new affliction that they dub nomophobia, which is the fear of being without your mobile phone. I have a feeling that a good number of people suffer from this new type of mental disorder and the scientific types are looking into it pretty seriously.
