Waiting around for your favorite company to create a dream device can be pretty painful, because that dream device may not ever come. One modder got tired of waiting for a touchscreen-packing MacBook from Apple, so he decided to create his own and the process is surprisingly straightforward.
In order to make a MacBook Touch, all he did was “took an old Mac laptop and a Wacom Intuos2 Tablet and hacked them together.” Although this may sound like a daunting task to those unfamiliar with computer innards, pros who have already implemented touchscreens on the Asus Eee PC should find this procedure to be even easier. They say that “it doesn’t take all that much work, although if you’re especially lousy with a screwdriver, you might still be intimidated by the project.”
