That’s the date that Amazon is giving us for the arrival of the new Microsoft Zune, or at least the hefty 80GB model that will replace its thicker 30GB cousin. If you hop on over to the official product page, you’ll find that it reads: “This item will be released on November 13, 2007. Pre-order now! Ships from and sold by Amazon.com. Gift-wrap available.”
As you recall, the Zune 2, which was announced last night and loved by Bill Gates, gets rid of the old five-way navigator in favor of what they’ve come to call the Zune Pad. This touch sensitive control allows you to sift through the menu with a swipe of the finger (sounds like the click wheel). It’s also notable that you can now sync your music, video, and podcast library automatically through a home WiFi network.
And yes, the $249 Zune 80GB qualifies for free shipping. Whether the Flash Zune players will ship at the same time is anyone’s guess.
