Acer is an interesting company because they have some really high-end stuff and then they have some really budget-minded stuff. The Aspire 5520 laptop belongs more in the latter category.
Don’t get me wrong. They say that this notebook looks quite attractive with its matte black finish, curved angles, and simple elegance, but as you take a peek down the spec sheet, you’ll quickly discover that it’s not exactly up to snuff.
The 1.7GHz AMD Athlon 64 x2 mobile TK-53 processor keeps everything humming along, but it only gets 1GB of DDR2 (533MHz) RAM. Considering that it’s configured to dedicate 256MB of that for graphics, you’re leaving just 750MB to run Vista. You can pretty much forget about aero effects.
The Acer Aspire 5520 weighs 2.75kg. No pricing or availability information was made available.
