Sadly, I wasn’t the lucky bugger that got to take this monster of UMPC for a 60 hour test drive, but I am able to deliver you the next best thing. The crew at GottaBeMobile.com had a chance to take the HTC Shift for a whirl and they’ve left behind a video with their impressions.
As you recall, the HTC Shift isn’t really a Pocket PC phone like the rest of the HTC lineup, instead being better described as a UMPC. You don’t really want to shove this into your pants pocket, because unless you’ve got pockets the size of suitcases, it just won’t fit. In terms of specs, you get a 7-inch touchscreen display, 30GB HDD, WiFi, Bluetooth 2.0, and Windows Vista (as well as Pocket PC OS). Battery life leaves much to be desired, however, being capped at about three hours.
