Remember the Samsung SGH-P520 that we stumbled across yesterday. At the time, we didn’t know about about its features other than the fact that it had a full-face 2.6-inch touchscreen display as its primary point of contact with the outside world. Well, it didn’t take long to dig up some more details concerning what this calculator phone successor can do.
Measuring just 8.9mm thick, the Samsung SGH-P520 is easily one of the skinniest phones on the market, but these confirmed specs are anything but skinnny. Like the iPhone, this Sammy handset also does GSM and EDGE, but it only does it on a tri-band basis. There is unfortunately no 3G to speak of, but Samsung did choose to include a WiFi radio for UMA purposes.
Other niceties include a 3 megapixel camera (that’s one megapixel more than the iPhone), 50MB of internal memory (that’s a lot less than the iPhone), microSD expansion, Bluetooth with A2DP, and a document reader. Battery life has been rated at up to 180 minutes of talk time and 220 hours of standby. We’re still waiting on some sort of indication regarding price and launch date.
