Let’s go for a short trip across the water so that we can waltz through Wireless Japan 2007. There, you will find the crazy cats at NEC showing off a smattering of new concept phones for us to gawk at, only to remind us that these may not ever reach production. They do indicate what the company can do, though.
The phone on the left, for example, takes on a flip and rotate form factor, much like the Nokia N93. The difference is that this phone seems a heck of a lot skinner, and the huge widescreen seems like it would be great for watching videos on the go. I’d imagine that the camera barrel could be able to provide some optical zoom, but I can’t say for sure. The second phone — the one on the right — is a clear departure from conventional though, opting for some sort of fabric material for the keypad. Weird.
