C’mon, like how lazy are we getting? Instead of having to glance down at the TV remote, you may soon be able to control your TV using simple hand gestures. That’s the functionality behind a box reportedly developed by Australian scientists.
Apparently, there’s some sort of built-in camera in the controller and this allows it to recognize the movements of your hands, how many fingers you’re holding up, and in what position. Using a myriad of waves, points, and a-okay signs, you can work with up to eight different A/V devices.
Naturally, the camera will need clear line of sight to the user for it to work. I’d hate to see what happens when you happen to get rowdy during the Super Bowl, only to have the controller recognize your applause for the “turn off TV” command.
