He’s a bad mother… shut yo mouth! But I’m just talking about i-Mate. Then we can dig it. The newly announced i-Mate JAMA Windows Mobile 5.0 PDA phone follows in a long line of successful cell phones, and the JAMA is one of the most compact to date. There’s no QWERTY keyboard to speak of, so all of your input will be through the 2.4-inch QVGA TFT touchscreen display.
Measuring just 106 x 52.5 x 15.6mm and weighing 110 grams, the i-Mate JAMA is powered by a 300MHz Samsung processor and comes with a 2.0 megapixel camera (with video), 128MB ROM, 64MB RAM, microSD expansion, and the i-Mate Media Control Panel which lets you “access songs and videos right from the device’s Today screen.”
The wireless radios are a bit of downer. They’ve only opted for Bluetooth 1.2 with no 2.0+EDR or AD2P to speak of. There’s also no high-speed 3G connectivity (just GPRS) or integrated WiFi. Instead, what you get is a simple dual-band (900/1800) GSM radio, meaning that it won’t work in North American anyways. Look for the i-mate JAMA to launch later this month.
