The recently announced range of solid state disks (SSD) — those are basically flash-based hard drive replacements — is going to be offered in capacities ranging from 4GB right up to 128GB.
These flash drives are supposed to directly replace any IDE 2.5-inch hard drives, meaning that you can plunk them in just about any modern laptop, providing you with a more stable, faster, and more power efficient computing experience. The interesting thing is that when someone took a stroll down Akihabara way, they discovered that both the 8GB and 16GB models were exactly the same price: about $480.
