In a world where video quality is steadily increasing and common people are buying digital cameras with more megapixels, it should come as little surprise that Western Digital is giving a fairly substantial bump in storage to its My Book line. The scary thing is that the newly announced 1.5TB external hard drive by WD is not even the biggest on the market. You don’t have to look too hard to find a 2TB solution.
Western Digital is offering a number of different options for connecting the spinning platter of data to your computer, including the standard USB 2.0 and the not-as-popular eSATA. And yes, it’s apparently Mac-friendly as well.
Prices for these new My Book drives will range from $279 to $699 depending on the specific configuration. I’d imagine the lower end of that is referring to the 750GB hard drive also announced today.
