I don’t really have this problem because my Canon Powershot S3 IS has an articulating LCD, but most consumer-level cameras don’t have that sort of functionality. For the average user, the Etsumi Display Mirror is an excellent accessory, because it allows you to take digital photographs at even the strangest of angles.
The little mirror mounts onto your camera using a couple of sticky strips, and then you can hold you camera at the most “extreme angles” while still getting a good view of the preview LCD through the mirror. Of course, there will be a little bit of distortion and your view won’t be the greatest, but this is much better than getting your head way down at worm’s eye level to get that cool nature pic.
The Etsumi Display Mirror is compatible with 2-inch and 2.5-inch compact cameras. The $22 accessory appears to be Japan only, but you should be able to import it without too much hassle.
