Lexus Hybrid to Top $100,000

Start counting your tens of thousands of dollars. The price for that super-duper Lexus hybrid has been announced. We also know when it will be out.

The all-wheel drive LS 600h L will be on the market for US$104,570. That’s a good chunk of change, but we are talking Lexus here and it’s a hybrid that’s rated as a Super Ultra Low Emissions Vehicle (SULEV).

As you might expect, the list of luxury features is long. For navigation buffs there is XM real-time traffic info outfitting a voice-activated nav system. For families and others who have varied climate controls and entertainment needs, there’s a separate air conditioning unit and DVD system for the back seat. The sound system is particularly impressive, sporting 19 speakers in all. Safety features include an Advanced Pre-Collision System and an automated parallel parking system. And speed freaks will appreciate the 438 horses under the hood.

The LS 600h L, first shown at the New York International Auto Show in 2006, will make its debut in June.
