If you’re one of those folks who can’t wait to get the smallest and thinnest, the Kenwood HD10GB7 is for you. The “Media Keg” is a tiny music-playing device. When we say tiny, we mean tiny. Its measurements are in millimeters: 44x62x17. The display is 1.5 inches and could be bigger but not by much. If you’re looking to watch Desperate Housewives on something this small, you’d better be packing a magnifying glass.
Of course, this isn’t a video player in any way, so you don’t have to worry about squinting … maybe a bit to use the tiny interface (which is multi-lingual, BTW). The amazing thing about this device, though, is the onboard memory. Illustrating Moore’s Law to the fullest, this little baby can store up to 10GB of audio files of a variety of formats, including windows Media DRM 10. The HD10GB7 also has a 24-hour battery life.
Those last two items are amazing and, unfortunately, the features that drive up the price, for the most part. You can buy one of these tiny devices now for US$399.
