Here we go, taking UMPCs to the next level. OQO announced their 02 ultra mobile computer at CES, but they’re already refreshing the product by integrated Verizon Wireless BroadbandAccess high speed data service capability. They are saying that this the first UMPC to do this, as well as being the world’s smallest fully-functional PC.
Not only will you be able to tackle all those Word docs and Excel spreadsheets on the go, because as you latch onto Verizon’s high speed EV-DO network, you’ll “now be able to access email, the Internet,” and more. The coast-to-coast coverage can provide average download speeds of 400-700kbps. The rest of the specs on the OQO 02 UMPC, in case you missed it the first time around, include a backlit ergonomic keyboard, support for external displays, 1.5GHz CPU, 1GB RAM, 60GB HDD, and Windows Vista pre-installed.
The 02 is available now from OQO’s online store starting at $1,499 for the 30GB model.
