Is that an entertainment device or a porcelain throne that should be stamped by American Standard? Sure, the MediaStreet eMotion DVD Portable Media Player will handle just about every format you toss at it, but that doesn’t take away from the fact that it “ends up looking like a toilet seat.” It doesn’t appear to have any internal storage of its own (it might, we just can’t find it), so you’ll have to supply the content on a platter of your own. It’ll accept standard CDs and DVDs, as well as optical discs that contain digital music and video files. If you’re more of a flash memory type of person, there also appears to be a 3-in-1 memory card reader, in addition to a USB 2.0 port.
The 3.5-inch LCD is far from being the biggest in the business, but it’s certainly larger than the squint-tastic display on the iPod Video. And hey, the MediaStreet eMotion PMP is only $139, so you won’t break the bank to give this player a chance. Still not cool enough? Wait a bit, because “there’s a special Public Enemy-branded version due to hit the streets in the Q2 of this year, loaded with the SLAMjamz/Public Enemy catalog of music and videos.”
