Helio is a joint venture between SK Telecom of Korea and EarthLink of the US. Maybe the former is a little jealous that their home country isn’t getting any part of this MySpace-loving action, because they’ve apparently started signing up subscribers in Korea.
Now, it seems that Helio isn’t exactly launching in Seoul and its surrounding area, per se, but rather they have started marketing the service in their home Korea to folks who were thinking of heading to the United States. After all, Helio — according to World Mobile — was “born for Korean customers in the U.S. We understand the needs of Koreans and offer what they want.”
Really? I thought Helio was for all hip youngsters.
