A lot of people these days rock massive music collections on their computers, but it sucks being stuck at the keyboard and mouse every time you want to switch up your playlist or jam to a different beat. Well, it looks like the pocket-sized Hercules Tunes Explorer Wireless has just been approved by the FCC, meaning that it will likely be ready for MacWorld next month.
With this handheld device, you can remotely control your iTunes library, adjusting the volume and song selection at your whimsy. You don’t need line of sight, you don’t even need to be in the same room. In fact, the functionality expands beyond just audio files to include podcasts and Internet radio stations too. Powered by two AAA batteries, the Tunes Explorer Wireless features an embedded LCD with blue backlight and a lateral scroll + click wheel. Naturally, this controller plays nice with both Windows and Mac OS X environments.
It was launched in the UK in October, but now Hercules is heading across the pond to North America. For more information, check out the original press release.
