Somewhere between a USB thumb drive and a large external hard drive is this solution from the folks at Jargy. The HDD-204 is a minute plastic enclosure that will very happily swallow up a Compact Flash card, Microdrive, or 1-inch hard drive. In fact, the top pops right open like a CD-player to accept these memory formats.
They say that it features a “compact and slim design for maximum mobility”, and I’d have to agree: it looks pretty darn tiny. In fact, reminds me of the USB hub I have on my computer. Naturally, it’s USB bus-powered, completely plug-and-play, supports USB 2.0, and has LED indicators for “Link” and “Access.” No word on pricing, but we do hear that it plays friendly both with Windows and Mac OS X environments.
