Gigabyte releases a pair of Core 2 Duo laptops

In the market for a new lappy? If you happen to be down Japan way, you’ll soon have the opportunity to select from two new Core 2 Duo notebooks from the folks at Gigabyte: the W251U and W551N series.

On the ultra compact end of things is the 1.9kg W251U line of laptops, boasting minute 12-inch WXGA displays, Core 2 Duo T7200 processosr, Intel (integrated?) graphics, all three flavors of WiFi, Bluetooth, S-Video, and 1.3 megapixel cameras. You’ll get an 80GB hard drive, as well as up to 2GB of RAM.

If you need something a little bigger (and a little heavier at 2.8kg), then the W551N series will be more your thing. The features are nearly identical its 12-inch cousin, with the exception of GeForce 7400 graphics, a dual layer DVD burner, and a 15.4-inch widescreen.
