Sprint has started rolling out EV-DO Revision A connections in San Diego, bumping their Sprint Power Vision network up to the next nevel. Before the year is out, people in no fewer than 20 additional cities will be enjoying the speedy wireless broadband technology, including Las Vegas, Seattle, Milwaukee, Baltimore, Boston, Denver, Kansas City, and New York City. The entire EV-DO network will get the upgrade by this time next year.
The average upload speed has been clocked at 300 to 400kbps, a substantial improvement over the 50 to 70kbps clients have been experiencing with regular EV-DO. Download speeds are improved as well, but only slightly. Lock yourself down to a two-year contract and you’ll be able to enjoy unlimited access for just $50/month.
