Acer may not be the biggest player when it comes to the laptop computer market, but they’ve teamed up with the maker of the world’s fastest street legal car to produce their latest number. The 1005WTMi isn’t the first notebook in the Acer Ferrari line, but with its ultra compact design and carbon fiber-esque exterior, it could be one of the most attractive.
Boasting a small but vibrant 12.1-inch TFT wXGA (widescreen) display, the 1005WTMi is powered by a dual core processor, but not the one from Intel. Instead, they took the AMD route with the Turion 64 X2 TL-60 and paired it up with an ATI XPress 11560 chipset.
The integrated 1.3 megapixel Acer Orbicam makes video telephony a cinch, and you’ll enjoy a host of other features as well, including Gigabit Ethernet, all three flavours of WiFi, Bluetooth 2.0 EDR, FireWire, infrared, S-video, USB 2.0, VGA-out, and so on.
No word on pricing, but like any Ferrari, I wouldn’t expect the 1005WTMi to be cheap.
