Electric car has top speed of 120 mph

We don’t normally utter the words electric car and speed demon in the same sentence, yet those four words could be used to describe this little eco-friendly number.

Speaking of numbers, here are some to knock your socks off: This electric car has two motors that combine to produce more than 1,000 lbs-ft of torque, which means that you don’t have to shift as you accelerate. You can zoom ahead from 0 to 60 mph in less than 4 seconds. The top speed is 120 mph.

Sound too good to be true? It’s true.

Despite its small size, this is a safe vehicle. Chassis is stainless steel. The batteries are plunked underneath, giving the car a low center of gravity and a 5-star rollover resistance rating from America’s National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. The body itself is made of fiberglass, kevlar, and carbon fiber. The brakes are spread out as well, both front and rear being of the disc variety.

One number you should be aware of is this: You’ll go no farther than 80 miles down the road before you need to recharge. Actually, the specs say that the range is 40-80, so it might depend on how fast you’re going as well.

The last number to keep in mind is the price: US$108,000.
