To my knowledge, they haven’t gone on the record with any kind of official North American launch, but the people of Europe can now get their hands on the Nokia N93 as the world’s largest cell phone maker has started shipping the super powerful handset.
This multimedia behemoth can handle just about anything you throw it. We’ve seen it do 3D gaming with the best of them, music playing is a piece of cake with the integrated media player, and connectivity couldn’t be easier thanks to its love for 802.11b/g WiFi, WCDMA, and tri-band GSM/GPRS. Other key specs include 50 megs of built-in memory, a miniSD expansion slot, and a huge 2.4-inch QVGA display that can swivel and flip like none other.
Of course, its biggest appeal is its picture and video taking ability. Throw in a 3.2 megapixel imaging sensor, Carl Zeiss Vario-Tessar lens, 3x optical and 20x digital zoom, and DVD-quality video at 30fps, and you’ve surely got a winner in the Nokia N93.
In related news, the Nokia N73 candybar (with similar features as its N93 companion) also hit shelves today.
