Bose QuietComfort 2 Noise Cancelling headphones are unquestionably effective, but the problem for some people is that they aren’t exactly streamlined. In fact, they’re kind of huge. The company has addressed that situation with the release of the new Bose QuietComfort 3 Noise Cancelling headphones. The company’s goal was to create a smaller, more portable on-ear design without sacrificing audio performance.

The new headphones are new in almost every way. They have a new proprietary acoustic design, a new electronic design for better noise reducing technology, and a new mechanical design to make the fit more comfortable for a longer wearing period.

One key difference is in the ear cushioning. Most headphones have cushions which are designed for fit, but the QuietComfort 3 goes much further. These headphones combine memory foam with an air restrictive outer covering which conforms to the ear. This seal blocks sounds better than anything else, and is more comfortable than most too.

The Bose QuietComfort 3 headphones are available now for $349 (with free shipping).
