Unless you’re the kind of person that upgrades his or her laptop every few months, there’s a good chance that your portable computing beast doesn’t rock some form of 3G go-anywhere high-speed goodness. Just as most of us had to pick up an external card to make use of WiFi so many moons ago, you probably need to do the same to do the HSDPA dance today. Huawei has the smallest and fastest HSDPA USB modem, giving you the opportunity to rock a blazing transfer speed of up to 3.6 Mbps.
Best of all, this USB modem is quite small. Unveiled last week at CommunicAsia in Singapore, the E220 from Huawei is only about 3.5 inches long. The design isn’t particularly flashy, but it doesn’t need to be.
If you’re not quite ready for the information superhighway at HSDPA speeds, fear not. Huawei’s peripheral can just as easily make use of the so-yesterday EDGE and GPRS stuff as well. They make no mention of price, but unless you plan on navigating through some non-English websites, you won’t be able to get your hands on one anytime soon anyways.
