TV browser lets you Skype from the sofa

So you’re watching Brazil score yet another goal against some hapless opponent. Now, you don’t have to get up and go to your computer or your mobile phone to get a Skype call.

It’s the brainchild of Oregan Networks, a software provider from the U.K. The idea is that you run a TV browser that combines satellite and VoIP functionality. While you’re watching television, you can see a Skype window pop up. You can choose to take the call or just let it ring.

The Media Browser approximates a Web interface on your TV, suggesting that it might just run on a PC that just happens to be hooked up to a TV screen or perhaps a very large monitor. No matter how you look at it, you don’t have to leave the couch to answer the phone.
