As large cities continue to grow, one of the fastest growing concerns is where are we going to store all of our autos? Parking garages typically take up far too much room, and aren’t particularly efficient with their use of space. This latest innovation coming out the land of the tempura and sushi stashes away cars on a rotating platform, getting you to cycle through all the vehicles like a jukebox.
Check out the video below. It’s not the longest clip in the world, but it gives a good idea of how this Japanese concept works. It appears very vertical in nature, and I think that this could work quite well, considering that horizontal real estate can get incredibly pricey in urban areas. It’s all about building upwards and not sideways.
No more worrying about the huge honking SUV parked next to you and the potential for door dings. No more trying to remember if you parked in P2 or P3. Just keep cycling until you see your four-banging econobox and you’re good to go.
