It seems to me that computer makers, when they can’t set their products apart based on its specifications alone, they throw on some different skin to grab our attention. The Ferrari laptops immediately come to mind. Well, nothing rhymes with orange, but that’s the color that Toshiba went for with their latest portable computing option, the Satellite M100 notebook. Okay, so the whole thing isn’t orange – I guess that would be a bit much – but they did clad the whole front cover in the same tone as a sun burned tangerine.
The details are still pretty slim at this point, but we do know that they opted for the Intel Core Duo T2300 processor, which spins round and round at 1.6GHz. They’re saying that this will provide users with “powerful multi-tasking technology”, but it seems that one of the main appeals of this particular laptop is as a multimedia machine, because it comes bundled with an “ultra slim remote” for a “convenient entertainment environment.” Best of all, you don’t even need to sit through a full boot up to enjoy the “express media player.”
Of course, we know nothing about the pricing or availability yet, so stayed tuned until we find out more… like HDD size, optical drives, RAM, etc.
