Ever wished that your music could automatically match your mood? Then the XPod is the concept for you. This smart music player senses and learns from your preferences, emotions and activities. It then chooses appropriate music for a situation based on what is has learned. It doesn’t do all the work for you, though. It relies on you to train the player about the right music choice in a given situation. After it has been trained, it uses internal algorithms to make a match between music and situation. The XPod doesn’t just rely on what it is taught, though. It also monitors external variables so it can consider the users activity, physical state and motions.
The concept will be presented later this year at the International Conference on Mobile Technology, Applications and Systems.
