Looking for something to do with your urine? How about sticking it in a battery? Scientists in Singapore have created a battery that is the size of a credit card and draws power from urine. The battery is made up of a layer of copper chloride steeped filter paper stuck between strips of magnesium and copper. The whole thing is laminated in plastic. The urine soaks into the paper, providing the right situation for power to be created, with magnesium as the anode and copper chloride as the cathode. A drop of urine can generate 1.5 volts of power, the same as an AA battery.

The battery could provide a disposable power source, but it could also create all sorts of embarrassing social situations. I personally can’t wait for a piss powered car, and I won’t be embarrassed to use it in public.
