Skype lets 100 chat at once

Skype aims to change online conferencing in a big way, unveiling a service for up to 100 people at a time to use the VoIP application.

It’s called Skypecast, and it is a form of social networking that has been unavailable to users for many years. Each Skypecast has a moderator, who passes a virtual microphone to each participant who wants to speak. The moderator has the power to mute or even eliminate anyone who makes derogatory or otherwise unpopular comments.

Skype has also entered discussions with several different types of Web entities, including blog sites. For now, you can include a link on your blog to a Skypecast, allowing your readers to join in without leaving your site.

Skypecast is available now for free download.
