Wireless technology comes to the race track

There are few things better than spending a day at the horse races, sitting in the sun and betting on the ponies. Wireless technology is coming to Churchill Downs, the home of the Kentucky Derby, and Keeneland Race Course to make the whole experience even easier and more relaxing.

Tellers now can walk among the crowd with a wireless device that lets them take bets and print tickets. That means you don’t even have to leave your seat to get a little action. If you are a hard core action junky and don’t want to have to wait for the teller to come around to get a bet down, you can even rent a wireless device of your own for the day to make all the bets you want.

This is just one of the many steps that racetrack owners are taking to use technology to make their offerings more attractive to customers. You have to think that it won’t be long before you can make your bets on your cell phone.
