GPS is showing up in every imaginable device these days. The more readily available it is, the more applications people will find for it. Like the California State Department of Corrections has, for instance. They will be using GPS to track three high risk gang members who have been given parole. These gang bangers will be wearing GPS ankle bracelets while they are free. The bracelets will obviously be very difficult to remove and authorities will know as soon as someone tries to remove one. Either by the blood trail or an alarm sensor that is triggered when the device has been tampered with.

The bad guys will appear as dots on a map. As part of their parole there are places that they are not allowed to go. By being able to track their every move, they will know as soon as one of the gang members tries to go to a prohibited area and will be able to do something about it. Since there are lots of ways that a creative criminal could overcome geographical limitations to return to their criminal ways, the Corrections officials will also be using humans to track the gang members. If the pilot project is a success it will be expanded.

This technology is great, and should not stop here. Pedophiles should be made to wear them, so if they enter a children’s school zone alarms will be triggered at those premises.
